AUTUMN MAKEUP

Autumn is officially here... which means we can finally start wearing all of our cosy knits, drinking cups of warm tea on a continuous rotation and of course, we get to start rocking our favourite autumn makeup looks.
Now while each season comes with weird and wonderful wacky makeup trends, let's be honest we are only going to start incorporating the most wearable ones into our day-to-day look. So we have rounded up the old faithful classics and the new brave (but do-able) trends all into one place for you.

Ahh the classic autumnal bold darker lip, how we have missed you, old friend! Clearly this is nothing new, however we consistently go back to this each and every year. Whilst some of you may be thinking 'I can't possibly pull off a red lip!' we got news for you, you can! As with foundation, not having the right undertone, can turn any hot fire look into a hot mess in 2 seconds flat. So be sure to experiment with different tones and find the one that compliments your colouring best, you know, exactly how you did with those 400 nudes you own...! However if you just really don't think red is your colour, then don't skip out on the look altogether, instead try a muted brown or berry colour.

Ok let's be honest, our autumnal 'warm smokey eyes' are essentially, near enough identical, to what we have done all throughout summer, only thats our 'bronzed goddess' looks. So we use slightly more orange-y, redder colours in the autumn and more bronze-y, golder colours through the summer. Yes we may use the exact same eyeshadow palettes, and yes, sometimes even the exact same eyeshadows but they are utterly, completely, totally, different looks. Honest.

This has got to be one of our favourite things about Autumn makeup... lots and lots and lots of blush. Whilst a lot of us still wear it throughout the summer, we certainly don't pack it on to the extent of what we do bronzer, because it looks less youthful and cute, and more sweaty and hot. So needless to say in the colder autumn and winter months is when blusher really has its time to shine. Flushed rosy cheeks bring a super youthful and glowy look to the skin and better still it makes super minimal makeup look perfectly polished off.

Brows have been a huge trend over the past few years and in that time they have gone from perfectly arched, not a single hair out of place, to messily bushy, to then even squiggly?! This Autumn we are still loving a good strong thick brow but if you want to stay super on trend fill some hairs in underneath your natural brows to create a more straight, less arched brow as seen in the images above. Whether you prefer them more clean and sharp looking or more natural and messy, whether you prefer filling them in with pomade, pencil or powder, ensure to invest in some eyebrow gel. This adds that extra needed volume and keeps your brow hair in place all day long.

There were tons of pops of colour all over the lids at the AW17 shows, usually a mono colour, including purples, reds, oranges, greens, basically the whole rainbow. However it was much more editorial looks on the catwalk that we couldn't in a million years pull off going into the office. So instead we have found softer smokier looks to incorporate the colour trend, however admittedly these will more than likely be reserved for nights out. We love a little experimental colour and this is the perfect way to make a statement but the thing we love most about this trend is that you can make it as subtle or as bold as you want. With full blown party season quickly appraoching we think we know which one we are going to lead towards...

Hopefully this helps inspire you into trying something a little new with your makeup as we transition into the colder months and let us know in the comments if you try any of these out!
